Hi all,
I'have I quite old website, but it's still working. Now, in the cmsimple webpage there are instructions to update from cmsimple 4.x to the new one. I am wondering how can I update my cmsimple 3.2 website. In case you are curios, it is this one:

Even in the forum, I did not get much information.
Thanks in advance,
Massimo

Re: CMSimple 3.2: how to update?
HI,
probably I'm a little confuse with the procedure.
I've create a new folder, then I have unzip CMsimple 4.3 and see if I can see it --> OK
Then, I did this:
"If everything works fine, you can copy the new installation to the place, where the old website was, or lead the domain to the new directory on the server side."
I have assumed that I'm not using CMSimple_XH.
Now, how can I import the old content?
The instructions here:
https://www.cmsimple.org/doku/en/?Updat ... ile_format
are considering conversion from CMsimple 4.3, but my content are from CMsimple 3.2.
Do I miss a document to convert (very old) content to a new one?
Thanks,
Massimo

Why you want to use such an old version of CMSimple?mcanonic wrote:I've create a new folder, then I have unzip CMsimple 4.3 ...
That's not true. Where you have read thatmcanonic wrote:The instructions here:

I don't know ...mcanonic wrote:Do I miss a document to convert (very old) content to a new one?
As I wrote, here (+ subpages) all is written:
https://www.cmsimple.org/doku/en/?Updat ... d_versions
Especially read the first paragraph ("up to" is the same as "lower than"), and ignore all hints with "_XH",

Re: CMSimple 3.2: how to update?
My bad, I did not read the doc carefully. Sorry about that. Maybe, I found a bug in the doc.
In this page:
https://www.cmsimple.org/doku/en/?Insta ... ermissions
You wrote to set 666 to ./cmsimple/log.txt
but I did not find this file. Did you mean log.php?
Best,
Massimo

Re: CMSimple 3.2: how to update?
Hi Massimo,
you are right - log.php is the new logfile. You can rename your old log.txt => log.php or start with the new, empty log.php.
Thank you for reporting,
Gert
