Comments Page Restore Backup

I have been getting 5-10 spam posts every day or two on my comments page. While deleting these spam posts I accidentally deleted the whole page of comments. I then tried to restore my contents and pagedata from the backup but the comments page is still blank. Are the comments hidden on some other file somewhere?
Thanks,
Sperry

Hello,
the comments data files you will find in the folder "./content/comments/".
If you have lost your comments data file by accident, and you didn't create backups of these files frequently, you should ask your provider, the most of them are making backups periodically.
You also should do that (backup of the whole ./content/ folder to your PC)

Hello Gert,
I had looked in the contents folder but did not realize that the file named dateiname.txt was the container for the comments. I had backed up a few weeks ago so I had all my comments except one. I found that lost comment by going to the google cache of the website.
I wanted to adjust the date of the comment and discovered that the long number like: 1430594250 contained the date and time of the comment. By trial and error I was able to change the date by manipulating that number. But I could not figure out the pattern of the number. How does that work?
Thanks,
Sperry

Hi Sperry, it's the UNIX timestamp:

There you can convert in both directions,

Okay. thanks!
About the spam I am getting. This guy is obviously got nothing to do. He keeps posting the spam to my site. I know I can hide it until I approve posts and then delete his. Also I could have membership and make folks login but this site is not being used in that manner.
Is there any way I could block him?

If it is a human - not really.
Otherwise use MembersArea with an guest account and publish the access data, it works for me. I use MembersArea
