CMSimpleCoAuthors

From April 2020, CMSimpleCoAuthors will only be available in the subsites variant. The corresponding copytemplate (folder) is called 2author and is included in all CMSimple downloads.

Existing CMSimpleCoAuthors installations can be updated like any other CMSimple installation, using the update packages.

CMSimpleCoAuthors is developed only for authors, they trust each other. For experts there are some options to compromise other subsites or the main website, if they have access to the backend of one of them.

CMSimpleCoAuthors is a specially configured version of CMSimple:

• From all menulevel1-pages, text files are created, with html code, that can be integrated into another CMSimple installation.
• The text files will be stored in a folder ./userfiles/co_author/ of the CoAuthors subsite.
• The website is in maintenance mode, and only visible, if you are logged in.
• Special Editor configurations produce absolute references and links from the domain root, starting with "/".
• CMSimpleCoAuthors is configured to "noindex, nofollow" to avoid duplicated content.

With CMSimpleCoAuthors, an external author can create content in a separate installation. The administrator can integrate this contents into the main website, with the plugin CoAuthors »

CMSimpleCoAuthors has to be installed in a subdirectory of your CMSimple installation. The co-author can work there in peace and quiet, the menulevel 2 and 3 pages can be used for the preparation of contents, because CMSimpleCoAuthors not produces any text files from menulevel 2 and 3 pages.
