The Content Management System to take away
Up to and including CMSimple 4.x, the content file (content.htm or content.php) was split into individual pages of different menulevels using the headings h1-h3. Since configuration This could be expanded by configuration.
CMSimple 5 splits by h1 headings with special CSS classes, which are used to define the menulevel of the page. Basically, 6 menulevels are possible, and all 6 headings h1-h6 can be used in the content of the pages, a major advance in terms of semantics and SEO.
For reasons of downward compatibility, CMSimple 5 can also be operated in CMSimple 4 mode. Which split mode is used can be specified in the CMS configuration:
Settings => CMS => Use => H1only_pagesplitting:
... "true" activates the CMSimple 5 mode, everything else the CMSimple 4 mode.
This has the advantage that when updating from CMSimple 4 to CMSimple 5, the page can be operated as before, as there is no configuration file in the update packages.
When updating from older versions, when CMSimple 5 is installed first and then the old content is converted and integrated, it is advisable to change the configuration option H1only_pagesplitting: to change to empty, so that the new installation first runs in CMSimple 4 mode.
If everything works correctly, you still can switch to the new split mode. Simply set in the CMS Configuration the config option H1only_pagesplitting to "true" and follow the further instructions from CMSimple.
